“…We conducted the TG study (Figure and Figure S6 in the Supporting Information) by applying the TG–MS–FTIR coupling technique, which allowed for the attainment of concrete information on the initiation of thermal decomposition. The recorded MS spectra (Figure ) suggested that as anticipated previously, the thermal decomposition of both polymers started with the triethyl phosphine moieties, and this was followed by the splitting of the hexadecyl CC lateral chains (α scission in Scheme ).
