Thermal Buckling of Orthotropic Plates with Angle Crack

Abstract: In this study, thermal buckling behaviors of the composite square plates consisting of antisymmetric four laminates with angle crack are examined. Finite element method is used for the solution. First critical buckling loads of an orthotropic plate without crack subjected to unidirectional compression are found. Constraint conditions have been taken two edge clamped and the other edges are free. The thickness of plate is 2mm (each layer has 0.5mm thickness). Thermal buckling behaviors of this plate are examine… Show more

“…[30,31]) shows that the presence of hole also affects mechanical and thermal buckling load. Sahin et al [32] considered anti-symmetric composite square plates with angle crack for studying thermal buckling behavior. The authors formulated finite element scheme and concluded that the presence of a through crack decreases the critical buckling temperature.…”

“…In the literature, only a limited number of studies have reported for the vibration analysis of cracked rectangular plates under thermal effects. Sahin et al [29] applied the finite element method to investigate the thermal buckling behavior of anti-symmetric composite square plates. Natarajan et al [30] presented a study for the free vibration of cracked functionally graded plates under thermal effects.…”
