Abstract:In the primordial Universe the axion particles, which solve in an elegant way the CP problem in QCD, can be produced both thermally, contributing to the hot dark matter of the Universe, or not thermally, contributing to the cold dark matter. The thermal axions have masses strongly degenerate with those of the three active neutrinos, as they leave identical signatures in the different cosmological observables. In addition, while still relativistic states, they also contribute to the relativistic degrees of free… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
