“…There is a clear change in the relative intensity of the bands between 250 and 650 cm −1 ( δ O‐Ta‐O and υ Ta‐O‐Ta) in function of Ta 2 O 5 content. In fact, the phosphate chains are progressively modified through [TaO 6 ] insertion resulting in a mixed tantalum‐phosphate network ( υ Ta‐O‐P), which is consistent with our previous structural hypotheses depicted from FTIR measurements, Figure A, also reported for other tantalum phosphate glasses . However, at higher tantalum oxide content, the Raman band centered at 650 cm −1 which appear in 30Ta sample, strongly increase in intensity from 30% to 50%, suggesting that more Ta‐O‐Ta linkages from between [TaO 6 ] units, are progressively formed.…”

“…In fact, tantalum atoms commonly assumes a high coordination number, allowing the increase of crosslinking bonds between the mixed covalent tantalum‐phosphate chains. This behavior was already observed and described in other tantalum alkali‐phosphate glasses . Similarity of T g values of 50Ta and 55Ta samples can be related to the limited solubility of Ta 2 O 5 in the phosphate melt.…”
