Thermal analysis of the electronics of a CubeSat mission

André G. C. Guerra,
Diego Nodar-López,
Ricardo Tubó-Pardavila

Abstract: CubeSat satellites are small cube-shaped space platforms that are very popular among academic, research and start-up communities mostly due to their reduced mission costs and short development time. This comes with an easy access to space, which enables high risk missions that would not be feasible otherwise. Thus, most of the subsystems available for these satellites have been adapted to a rather fast development methodology. However, thermal control engineering is still somewhat overlooked due to its complex… Show more

“…CubeSats are miniature cube shaped satellites that are widely used in the research filed for the purpose of space exploration. Their popularity among scholars is due to their small size, short development time and low cost [1,2]. A standard 1 Unit (U) CubeSat comes in a size of 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm with the capability to be expanded, via adding additional units, for purposes requiring larger configurations such as 2U, 3U, or 6U [1].…”
