Therapeutic effects of phlorotannins in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders

Abstract: Phlorotannins are natural polyphenolic compounds produced by brown marine algae and are currently found in nutritional supplements. Although they are known to cross the blood–brain barrier, their neuropharmacological actions remain unclear.
