Theory of solar oscillations in the inertial frequency range

Abstract: Three-dimensional visualization of the m = 1 high-latitude inertial mode (red / blue) and the m = 8 columnar convective mode (yellow / cyan) of the Sun computed by my linear eigenmode solver. The longitudinal velocity eigenfunctions are shown. Background: A snapshot of vertical velocity from my numerical simulation of the near-surface convection of the Sun.
