Abstract:In this chapter, we introduce spatiotemporal modulation to realize thermal wave nonreciprocity. The major mechanism is the effective advection effect of spatiotemporal modulation in an open thermal system. We further analyze the phase difference between two spatiotemporally modulated parameters, which offers a tunable parameter to control nonreciprocity. We further define a rectification ratio based on the reciprocal of spatial decay rates and discuss the nonreciprocity conditions accordingly. Finite-element s… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
