Using recent residential redevelopment projects in South Korea, relocation decisions were investigated with respect to social justice, social capital, and various urban spatial attributes at individual, neighborhood, and community levels. Drawing on previous social justice theory, a spatial multilevel analysis using both primary and secondary data was employed to measure community attributes that reflected social justice, social capital, social services, environmental, and economic characteristics. Results suggest that relationships with neighbors in the redevelopment project lead to a lower likelihood of relocation. These empirical findings are intended to inform policy makers interested in the perspectives of residents who are potentially displaced by public and private redevelopment efforts.

This research explores the adaptability and efficacy of the OECD eco-innovation framework in guiding sustainable urban development within emerging urban centres, mainly through Neom, Saudi Arabia. It seeks to elucidate the framework's potential in facilitating eco-innovation in urban planning, contributing to the broader discourse on sustainable urban development. Employing a qualitative research design, the study engages with a cohort of experts through structured interviews, complemented by a thematic analysis of these discussions. This approach allows for an in-depth exploration of the application and impact of the OECD eco-innovation framework on Neom’s urban planning and development strategies. The study also incorporates a systematic review of relevant documents to understand further the integration of eco-innovative practices in Neom's planning processes. The findings highlight the critical role of the OECD eco-innovation framework in driving eco-innovation within Neom’s urban development. Key insights include the importance of financial incentives, regulatory frameworks, market mechanisms, and knowledge exchange in fostering urban eco-innovation. Additionally, the research emphasises the need for multisectoral collaborations and data-driven strategies to effectively integrate eco-innovation into urban development, underscoring the transformative potential of Neom as a model for sustainable urban planning. This study contributes original insights into utilising the OECD eco-innovation framework in emerging urban developments, explicitly focusing on Neom, Saudi Arabia. It enriches the sustainable urban development literature by demonstrating the framework's adaptability and relevance, offering valuable implications for policymakers, urban planners, and researchers. The research underscores the necessity of tailoring international frameworks to local contexts, enhancing their practical applicability and impact in promoting sustainable urban ecosystems.

The technocratic approaches to city planning are replaced by integrated urban development in the contemporary society. Management-wise, urban design is a complex matter which involves a large number of stakeholders. Most important, modern city development requires the residents to become active participants of the decision-making process. The article aims at presenting the process of urban planning in the Arkhangelsk region, the north-west of Russia. City planning approaches of the Arkhangelsk region government are undergoing transformations. The residents' community has started a negotiation process with the municipal government to grant a say in urban planning. However, the communication process is not easy. On the one hand, communication channels are defined and functioning. The citizens use the Internet and mass media to learn about the authorities' plans and actions. The risen community awareness has put forward first collective action in the region. On the other hand, there is still much to be done. This research is evidence-based and analyses the results of a survey among the Arkhangelsk region residents highlighting the ways the community can impact the urban space planning, as well as the relationships between the municipality administration and city dwellers on the issue. Though an extensive public inclusion needs significant time and effort, the findings show that certain changes have been started.
