Theoretically Analyzed Optical Property of Silver Nanowire on a SiO2 Layer

Abstract: We demonstrate a silver nanowire (AgNW) grating placed on a SiO 2 layer. Comparing with the transmission spectra of the AgNW grating or the SiO 2 layer only, an obvious transmission dip is observed in our proposed structure. The transmission dip is caused by the period induced effects (PIE). Then, we investigate the physical mechanism of the PIE phenomenon through analyzing the electric field distribution.
