Abstract:The search for new radioactive isotopes has been on the rise due to high demands of positron-emitting radionuclides applicable for positron emission tomography (PET) modality in nuclear medicine. In this investigation, proton irradiations of sodium chloride (NaCl) were theoretically highlighted, including discussion on stable and radioactive isotopes produced during proton bombardment of the NaCl target.
