Abstract:The rhodium-catalyzed hydroacylation of terminal alkynes provides an efficient strategy for the construction of unsaturated ketones. Density functional theory calculations were carried out to study the mechanisms and understand the origins of the ligand-controlled regioselectivity. The results demonstrate that the reaction follows the classical Chalk−Harrod-type mechanism. Distortion/interaction analyses show that the branched selectivity with L1 ligand stems from the electronic and steric effects, while the l… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
