Theoretical Investigations of the Structural, Magnetic and Electronic Properties of F2-xMnGe:Cux Alloy

Abstract: The paper presents results of theoretical investigations on the structural, magnetic and electronic properties of Fe2-xMnGe:Cux Heusler alloy focusing on the role of iron-copper substitution effects on selected parameters. The calculations were performed on the basis of the density functional theory approach using the plane-wave basis set. The substitution of [Ar]4s1 3d10 copper in place of [Ar]4s2 3d6 iron site was investigated.Among the many interesting properties exhibited by those alloys such as shape memo… Show more

“…The full-Heusler alloys of the X 2 YZ composition (where X and Y are elements from transition metal dorbital block and Z is sp-orbital element from p block [4]) crystallize in one of two main structures, namely L2 1 (AlCu 2 Mn-type) and CuHg 2 Ti-type. The final structure in which material crystallizes depends on the overall energy which it can obtain by choosing one of them.…”

“…One of the characteristic properties of phononic structure is the presence of phononic band gaps (PhBG) [1]. Materials with aperiodic structure are used for construction of the selective acoustic filters, sensors, or noise suppressor [2,3].…”
