“…And what are the "settled" topics, versus what are the emerging, disputed, or conflicting topics? As noted by past authors in educational leadership, advances in any field need a concrete cumulative knowledge base to attend to the field's future direction; otherwise, we run the risk of allowing the field to decline and demise (Heck, 2015;Heck & Hallinger, 2005;Tschannen-Moran, Firestone, Hoy, & Moore-Johnson, 2000;Oplatka, 2009Oplatka, , 2010. “…The Task Force on Research and Inquiry in Educational Administration concurred. They indicated that the field lacks sustained and focused empirical inquiry that would result in meaningful judgements drawn about leadership preparation (Tschannen-Moran et al 2000). Further, much of the research that has been done in educational administration has been descriptive.…”

“…This has accounted for the implausibility to build consensus on important problems (Tschannen-Moran et al, 2000), or to accumulate knowledge about how to engage in practical activities or how to prepare students to do them successfully (Riehl et al, 2000).…”
