The Weil Osteotomy

Abstract: Forefoot pain is a common presenting symptom to foot and ankle specialists. Common diagnosis for forefoot pain includes metatarsal stress fracture, neuroma, capsulitis, and or synovitis of metatarsophalangeal joints, or plantar plate tear. An abnormal parabola is commonly encountered causing changes in the biomechanics of the foot leading to metatarsalgia. When conservative treatment fails, surgery is often indicated.
