“…However, long‐term studies to date do not indicate a significantly increased risk of skin cancer over an age‐ and sex‐matched control population, who have not received UVB phototherapy. NB‐UVB phototherapy is a safe therapy (Thompson & Kim, ; Ibbotson, ; Mohammad et al, ). We report this case in the hope that NBUVB will be an option for intractable verruca plana, because the treatment is simple and easy, the duration is not long, no obvious adverse reactions (especially scars).…”

“…Demographic information, vitiligo type, starting dose, peak dose without subsequent phototoxic events, frequency of phototherapy, total number of phototoxic events, and total number of phototherapy treatments were extracted from charts. NBUVB phototherapy regimens had been individualized to the patient using the vitiligo phototherapy protocol set forth by the Vitiligo Working Group . Patient charts were also reviewed for the presence of photosensitizing disorders and use of concomitant photosensitizing medications in association with phototoxic events.…”

“…Segmental vitiligo tends to be less responsive to medical treatments and phototherapy, whereas generalized vitiligo tends to be more responsive to medical treatments and phototherapy. Narrowband‐ultraviolet B (NBUVB, 311‐313 nm) phototherapy is currently the mainstay of phototherapy in patients with generalized vitiligo and can be used to treat localized vitiligo (excimer laser) …”

“…Although institutions have individual guidelines on the administration of NB‐UVB phototherapy in vitiligo, no uniformly published guidelines exist. To address this gap, the Vitiligo Working Group developed phototherapy recommendations, which have recently been published (Table ) …”
