The VIMOS Public Extragalactic Redshift Survey (VIPERS)

Abstract: We present the general real-and redshift-space clustering properties of galaxies as measured in the first data release of the VIPERS survey. VIPERS is a large redshift survey designed to probe in detail the distant Universe and its large-scale structure at 0.5 < z < 1.2. We describe in this analysis the global properties of the sample and discuss the survey completeness and associated corrections. This sample allows us to measure the galaxy clustering with an unprecedented accuracy at these redshifts. From the… Show more

“…We examine the interacting scenario both for the constant and dynamical nature of the dark-energy equation of state. Finally, we constrain both the interacting scenarios using the latest observational data from different astronomical sources, namely, the cosmic microwave background radiation [46,47], baryon acoustic oscillations distance measurements [48][49][50], joint light curve analysis from Supernovae Type Ia [51], weak lensing [52,53], redshift space distortion data [54][55][56][57][58][59], and finally the Hubble parameter measurements from cosmic chronometers [60] plus the local Hubble constant [61]. We note that the use of several observational data provides better and tight constraints on the models.…”

“…The 2PCF of PDR-1 galaxies and the first constraints on the growth rate from redshift-space distortions are presented in a parallel paper (de la Torre et al 2013). A measurement of Ω M using a novel clustering statistic is given in Bel et al (2013).…”

“…This represents a reasonable, though not optimal, approximation at r p 20 h −1 Mpc , where r p is the direction perpendicular to the line-of-sight, and facilitates the comparison with previous studies. A more detailed interpretation of these data using halo occupation distribution (HOD) modelling is deferred to a future work (see also de la Torre et al 2013).…”

“…The data set used in this paper are those of the early science data release of VIPERS data as described in Guzzo et al (2013); see also de la Torre et al (2013), Fritz et al (2013), Marulli et al (2013), Bel et al (2013), and Davidzon et al (2013). This data will be publicly available in fall 2013 as the VIPERS Public Data Release 1 (PDR-1) catalogue.…”
