Abstract

A bilayer 3-D collagen scaffold for epidermal morphogenesis Simultaneously by cultivating epidermal cells on dermal equally provides a good model for the study of dermal-epidermal interactions [1,2]. Using this bilayer 3-D collagen scaffold to study the effect of EGF on keratinocyte morphogenesis, the results show that time scale modulation of EGF on keratinocyte cell behavior depends on the expression of paracrine or autocrine growth factors (e.g. KGF and TGF-b1).
