The Vascular Factor Plays the Main Role in the Cause of Pain in Men with Chronic Prostatitis and Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome: The Results of Clinical Trial on Thermobalancing Therapy

Abstract: Chronic pain in patients with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS), NIH category III is difficult to treat without understanding its cause. The main symptom of chronic prostatitis is pain. In this study, we would like to explain the origin of pain in men with CP/CPPS and its therapy. Forty-five patients with CP/CPPS have received thermobalancing therapy (TT) enabled by Dr Allen’s therapeutic device (DATD) for six months as mono-therapy. The control group comprised 45 men with CP/CPPS did … Show more

“…Outcomes of the study of TT with DATD in men with CP/CPPS confirm the view that the vascular factor plays the major role in the pathophysiology of this disease (33). It has also been determined that chronic pain, which is a manifesting symptom of CP/CPPS, is a consequence of the problem at the capillary level, namely, the micro-focus of hypothermia, which in turn causes an expansion of the capillary network, and this additional tissue increases the pressure on nociceptors causing pain (34).…”

“…Approximately one‐fifth of our study population had total prostate volume enlargement on MRI. Although prostate size does not appear to be a significant risk factor for CPPS, and it has not been recommended for the evaluation of patients with this disease (Nickel, ), prostate enlargement in men with CPPS is not a rare condition, as has also been reported by other authors (Allen, ; Franiel et al, ; Shukla‐Dave et al, ).…”

“…The self-management of LUTS due to BPH with the use of DATD demonstrated its high efficacy [46]. It was also proved to be effective in treatment of chronic prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain, which may be responsible for the development of BPH [47,48]. Therefore, implementation TT with DATD as the first-line BPH treatment into the Guideline for Urologists and General Practitioners should be carried out as soon as possible.…”
