The Value of Gastric Cancer Staging by Endoscopic Ultrasonography Features in the Diagnosis of Gastroenterology

Abstract: This research was aimed at exploring the application value of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) in the diagnosis of gastric cancer staging and the correlation between staging and clinical features of gastric cancer. A total of 72 patients with gastric cancer were selected and randomly divided into two groups. The patients in the pathological group underwent postoperative pathological examination, while those in the EUS group received preoperative EUS examination. The results showed that the staging accuracy of … Show more

“…Hua Zhou et al. ( 57 ) reported that the depth of lesion invasion may affect the diagnostic accuracy of EUS, and that, in general, its accuracy needed to be improved. We expect that future research will determine the effectiveness of EUS in EGC applications.…”

“…For the diagnosis of nodal disease, which is typically carried out before ER, EUS was also associated with variable accuracy (10). Hua Zhou et al (57) reported that the depth of lesion invasion may affect the diagnostic accuracy of EUS, and that, in general, its accuracy needed to be improved. We expect that future research will determine the effectiveness of EUS in EGC applications.…”

“…The results of gastric filling ultrasonography for gastric cancer N staging in this group were that the N0/N1 and overall diagnostic coincidence rates were high, reaching 88.89% and 81.81%, respectively, while the N2 diagnostic coincidence rates were low. It may be attributed to the study of Zhou and Li [ 27 ] that the detection rate of lymph nodes by ultrasound is related to the diameter of the lymph nodes. The larger the diameter, the higher the detection rate.…”

“…As a result, the majority of EGC patients underwent an excessive amount of D2 lymphadenectomy therapy ( 11 ). There have been many studies on the diagnostic power of EUS, because it allows for a clear view of the various layers of the stomach wall, making it one of the most helpful techniques for T staging ( 12 , 13 ). According to prior research, for T1 staging, individual EUS accuracy varied from 14 to 100%, and the pooled accuracy was 77% (95 CI: 70-84%) ( 14 , 15 ).…”
