Zur Diagnostik des infrarenalen Bauchaortenaneurysmas (BAA) stehen verschiedene Verfahren zur Verfügung: Palpation, Röntgenübersichtsaufnahme, Aortographie, Computer-Tomographie und Sonographie. Als einfache höchst zuverlässige Methode, die eine dreidimensionale Erfassung und Größenbestimmung eines BAA einschließlich der Abbildung älterer Wandthromben ermöglicht, hat sich die Sonographie erwiesen. Die Treffsicherheit liegt bei 98%. Bei der postoperativen Sonographie nach prothetischem Aortenersatz lassen sich Früh- und Spätbefunde unterscheiden: Alter Aneurysmasack, postoperative Hämatome, Prothesendilatation, Prothesenabknickung, Protheseninfektion und Hydronephrosen. Auch diese Veränderungen lassen sich nichtinvasiv und korrekt bei entsprechender Beachtung der Klinik sonographisch darstellen.

'Απεφοίτησα τό έτος 1969 έκ τοΰ Α' Γυμνασίου Θηλέων Θεσσαλονί κης καί τό επόμενο £τος ένεγράφην είς τήν Ίατρικήν Σχολήν τοΰ Uni versita degli Studi di Bologna (Ιταλία), έκ της οποίας απεφοίτησα τό 1977. Άπό τόν 'Απρίλιο τοΰ 1978 έως τόν Μάρτιο τοΰ 1979 υπηρέτησα ώς αγροτικός Ιατρός είς τό Παπαχρηστίδειον Μαιευτήριον ' Ελευθερουπόλεως. Τόν Ίούνιον τοΰ 1979 διωρίσθην είς τήν Α' Χειρουργική ν Κλινική ν τοΰ Πανεπιστημίου 'Αθηνών διά τήν έκπλήρωσιν τοΰ προβλεπομένου χρόνου είς τήν Χειρουργική διά τήν ειδικότητα της Άναισθησιολογίας. Έκ τοΰ 'Ιουλίου 1980 υπηρετώ ώς εσωτερικός βοηθός είς τό Άναισθησιολογικό Τμήμα τοΰ Νοσοκομείου Ε.Ε.Σ.
