The Utilization of MHealth for Assessing Child Safety Education Is A Necessity

Abstract: In the last 10 years, disasters have caused huge casualties that affected the welfare and safety of people and countries. More than 700 thousand people have lost their lives, more than 1.4 million injured and around 23 million have lost homes due to disaster. “…In disaster mitigation, the lack of awareness of available resources and the need for teacher training is the biggest challenge in efforts to optimize existing resources. Therefore, increasing the use of resources such as: using web-based technology for teacher training, integrating disaster preparedness messages into children's programs, continuous evaluation systems, including disaster education content as a prerequisite in the curriculum, and adding voluntary teaching as a one of the national strategies for integrating disaster education curricula is important to do (Indonesia, 2018;Johnson, Ronan, Johnston, & Peace, 2014;Widowati, Husodo, Istiono, & Lazuardi, 2019).…”

“…Sistem surveilans kesehatan yang user friendly dapat dikembangkan melalui mobile-health atau m-health sehingga memudahkan user untuk melakukan entri data kapan dan dimana saja. Selain itu m-health sangat potensial tidak hanya digunakan sebagai sistem surveilans kesehatan namun juga bisa dikembangkan untuk melakukan penilaian pendidikan keselamatan anak secara lebih komprehensif di sekolah (Widowati, Husodo, Istiono, & Lazuardi, 2019).…”

“…Injury, death and property damage can be reduced, and school resilience can be improved if schools could practice disaster management comprehensively (multi-hazardbased), especially if they have an assessment software that supports the disaster management in schools which allows structured and systematic self-evaluation (9,10). However, Widowati et al (2019) conducted a systematic review through electronic databases could not find any mobile health applications (app) that assess multi-hazardbased child safety education in schools. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a safety education assessment tool in schools that can later be improved into a mobile health application assessment tool (11).…”
