“…The study findings indicate that VEE had a positive effect on parental knowledge of immunizations and parental satisfaction with the provider. This is consistent with other studies that demonstrate pictures have positive effects on health care knowledge, recall, adherence, and compliance (Bodurka & Schlumbrecht, ; Delp & Jones, ; Foertsch et al., ; Hoppe, Denkers, Hoppe, & Wong, ; Houts et al., ; Indradat et al., ; Kakkilaya et al., ; Papachrisanthou et al., ; Wu et al., ). Patient–provider discussions contribute to parental understanding and knowledge of immunizations recommended during adolescence (Rickert, Rehm, Aalsma, & Zimet, ).…”

“…Multimedia education integrates text, audio, and video. Furthermore, multiple randomized control studies have demonstrated that the use of multimedia educational material increases a patients ability to recall the information . Thus, although physician‐patient face time is important to the development of a good patient‐doctor relationship, a video‐based multimedia patient education program that is presented in a simple manner can help supplement the traditional in‐office teaching to provide patients a sense of handholding which may enhance patients’ understanding of the surgery, decrease anxiety, and improve patient satisfaction.…”
