The Use of the Behavioral Engineering Model to Examine the Training and Delivery of Feedback

Abstract: This study explored how managers were trained to implement effective feedback to improve employee performance with regard to organizational infrastructure and individual competencies from Gilbert's behavioral engineering model (BEM). For purposes of this study, effective feedback was defined as feedback that is delivered in an appropriate setting, utilizes neutral language that is not judgmental, is focused on observable behaviors or performances, and incorporates a plan for improvement.
