The Use of Speech Technology in Computer Assisted Language Learning Systems

Abstract: Abstract. The article deals with the ways of application of automatic speech recognition (ASR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology to Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) systems. Speech technology can be effectively used for such methodological purposes as pronunciation training, drilling communication skills, checking students' vocabulary and training listening comprehension skills.
