The study assessed the influence of rapeseed meal (RSM) fermented using Bacillus subtilis 87Y on the feed microbiota, intestinal microbiota, blood biochemical parameters, and content of minerals in the blood plasma and faeces of piglets. Modulation of the microbial composition of feed containing fermented rapeseed meal (FRSM) and of the faeces of pigs consuming it was observed. There was a significant increase in the number of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and a decrease in the total number of coliforms and Clostridium perfringens in the faeces of animals from the experimental groups. FRSM in the diet of piglets was shown to improve the mineral balance by increasing the levels of P, Ca, and Mg in the blood plasma and reducing their amount in the faeces. A beneficial effect on parameters of protein and lipid metabolism was also noted, resulting in an increase in the levels of total protein (TP) and albumins (ALB) and a reduction in triacylglycerols (TG) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in the blood plasma of the piglets. The research results indicate that the presence of FRSM in the diet of weaners can be a preventive factor in intestinal dysbiosis and support the maintenance of homeostasis.

Medicinal plants are an indispensable source of new and effective pharmaceutical products. In the study, the biological activities of water extract obtained from the H. rosa-sinensis leaf was determined and its potential for use in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries was investigated. Disc diffusion assay and micro-dilution method against clinical origin test microorganisms were used to assess biological activity. The Extract showed a zone of inhibition on the tested bacteria and yeasts in the 6.85 mm to 10.74 mm range. MIC and MBC or MFC values of the Extract was determined as 6.25-12.50 µg/µL and 12.50-50 µg/µL. Then, the cream formulation containing H. rosa-sinensis leaf water extract and/or human milk originated probiotic candidate Limosilactobacillus fermentum MA-7 strain have been developed. The Extract and probiotic containing cream formulations showed variable antibacterial and antifungal effects on the tested clinical originated microorganisms. The highest inhibition zone diameters of Cream + Extract + Probiotic formulation group was obtained against Candida glabrata RSKK 04019 (9.09 mm) and Escherichia coli O157:H7 (9.04 mm). The results indicate that L. fermentum MA-7 and H. rosa-sinensis water extract, alternative to synthetic antimicrobials, may be used as a natural bioactive ingredient in daily personal care and clinical applications in the near future.

The aim: study of the effectiveness of environmentally safe means «Vetoks-1000», «Sumerian silver» for the prevention of pseudomonosis of poultry embryos, associated with bacteriosis. Materials and methods. The effectiveness of the preparations «VetOks-1000», «Sumerian silver» in relation to E. coli, P. aeruginos, S. aureus, S. typhimurium was determined by the method of researching antimicrobial activity on test objects: galvanized iron, wooden bars (painted and unpainted), red brick and plaster cut-outs, 10 x 10 cm, and a hatching egg. The effectiveness of «VetOks-1000», «Sumerian silver» solutions compared to formaldehyde for disinfection of hatching eggs and incubation cabinets for the purpose of preventing pseudomonosis of poultry embryos was carried out in the production conditions of the hatchery, where P. aeruginosa, E. coli, S. аureus, were periodically isolated from asphyxiated embryos and from the carcasses of chicks of the first 10 days of life by comparing the hatching rate of chicks in the experimental and control groups. Results. It was established that the «Sumerian silver» had an antimicrobial effect against the causative agents of pseudomonosis and the main bacterioses of poultry in concentrations of 1–3 %, and the drug «VetOx-1000»was effective in concentrations of 0.024 %–0.03 % after exposure for 1-4 hours in depending on the type of surface. The number of conditioned young birds, obtained with the use of environmentally safe means «VetOks-1000», «Sumerian silver», was higher by (1.1-1.7) % compared to the number of young birds in the control group using formalin. Conclusions. The proposed method of prevention of associated pseudomonosis of poultry embryos by rotation of environmentally safe means in established bactericidal concentrations (3 % «Sumerian silver» solution and 0.03 % «VetOks 1000» solution) ensures a 1.1–1.7 % higher hatching of young birds compared to control using formalin
