“…There are few different wearable‐computing devices on the market that can be used instead of Google Glass, and there are also streaming devices, such as MedCyclops (Jacksonville, FL), that are compatible with multiple wearable head‐up displays. Previously, Google Glass has been used in the operating room for recordings and live streaming of simple procedures via Google Hangout for teaching and sharing purposes …”

“…The other study in live patients involved the Google Glass device used in tracheal intubation and laryngoscopy. Spencer et al . report the usage of Google Glass to document perioperative airway assessment in a patient presenting to the emergency room with limited mouth opening and malocclusion due to blunt trauma.…”

“…Use of Google Glass in pediatric anesthesia has only been reported in one journal letter where an airway view obtained under direct laryngoscopy was successfully recorded using Glass under regular lighting . The use of Glass for video documentation of airway findings provided significantly improved documentation when compared to written notes.…”

“…7 Additionally, Google Glass has been proposed in a surgical setting to document airway assessment, to assist with ultrasound-guided central line placement, and to create a wearable surgical navigation system for imageguided cancer resection. [8][9][10] In addition to already proposed uses in the literature, the ability of an electronic head-mounted wearable device like Google Glass to augment vital sign monitoring offers the potential to improve patient safety by preventing complications of conscious sedation during bedside procedures. However, feasibility and benefits to using this technology are yet to be demonstrated.…”
