The Use of Natural Interaction to Enrich the User Experience in Telemedicine Systems

Abstract: Human communication always used gestures, movements and expressions as oral language support. Certain gestures are so commonly used around the world that are understood throughout different cultures and times, such as a wave or thumbs up. Natural Interaction is a way to apply this concept to user interfaces in computer systems. In this paper we discuss about the use of Natural Interaction features in a telemedicine system. More specifically, we demonstrate the use of natural interaction interfaces for control … Show more

“…Therefore, any gamification element should be unobtrusive, especially in critical situations. Gamification input should be designed in such a way that the regular work tasks become the input of the system, therefore adhering to the concept of natural interaction using humans' five senses (Tavares et al 2013). A second requirement is to blend out the gamification system in case of increased stress levels at the workplace.…”

“…Natural Interaction is a user experience objective that is extensively researched in most interaction fields and not limited to NUIs (Tavares, Medeiros, de Castro & dos Anjos, 2013). Consequently, it can be presented that natural interaction is the effect of transparent interfaces, which are based on previous knowledge, and where the users feel like they are interacting directly with the content.…”
