The use of methods of reconstruction and modeling in investigative activities: problem statement and the relationship of concepts

Abstract

Випуск 40 ' 2020 corresponding object is created, i.e. these methods have the same form of expression of the results of their application. It is also important that the reconstruction is purely retrospective, i.e. always looking back, while modeling can be both retrospective and future-oriented. The article establishes that the method of reconstruction is a kind of modeling method, i.e. these methods are related as an object and its variety. Determining common and distinctive features between reconstruction and modeling results in a more effective application of the reconstruction method during the pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses, establishing the truth in the case and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
