The use of electroencephalogram to characterize subjective evaluation with illuminance as the independent variable

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explore a new method for characterizing the subjective evaluation under different illuminance level by using electroencephalogram (EEG). The EEG signals and the subjective evaluation (i.e. visual comfort, spaciousness, brightness and visual appearance) from 16 subjects under 6 illuminance levels (75, 100, 200, 300, 500 and 850 lx) were collected.
