Abstract:This current study is aimed to know whether any improvement or not in using digital comics as the media on student’s English competence. The goal of this study was to see if there was a substantial improvement in students' vocabulary proficiency after they were taught vocabulary using actual material. In this study, the pre-experimental design was used with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The first semester of English instruction at IAI As'adiyah Sengkang in the academic year 2020/2021 served as the study's sample. Simple random sampling was utilized in this study. A total of 15 students were used as samples. Written tests were employed as part of the study instrument. The utilization of real resources significantly improved students' vocabulary mastery, according to the findings of this study. The t-test result of -20,911 with a significance of 0.00 < 0.05 and a degree of freedom (n-1) of 28 showed this. As a result, the null hypothesis (H0) has been rejected, whereas the alternative hypothesis (H1) has been accepted.

Objective: In the 21st century, critical and creative thinking skills must be nurtured and grown from elementary school. The way to improve this ability can be done by utilizing Mathematics subjects but with a realistic approach that allows students to immediately learn critically and creatively according to the context of everyday life so that students can think organized and creatively in their lives, not limited to subjects. One way to facilitate the learning objectives of Mathematics with a Realistic Approach is to utilize e-comic learning media that allows students to see the context of the lesson using their visual abilities. Method: This research uses literature studies by searching relevant journals, books, and articles using the Publish or Perish application. Results: The study showed that e-comics improved students' critical thinking skills and creativity. In addition, researchers also found that several factors make mathematics learning with a realistic approach that utilizes e-comics efficient, as well as steps to conduct mathematics learning with a realistic approach that utilizes e-comic learning media. Novelty: This research uses an innovative and creative approach to improving students' critical and creative thinking skills through Mathematics learning using e-comic learning media.

Komik digital yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari internet dan dipilih dengan cermat berdasarkan kebutuhan siswa termasuk mempertimbangkan usia, tingkat membaca, minat, jangkauan akses yang mudah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komik digital yang didukung oleh strategi PQRST terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa. Secara rinci menekankan pada peningkatan pemahaman membaca siswa setelah pengajaran menggunakan komik digital melalui Strategi PQRST. Desain eksperimen semu dilakukan oleh peneliti dalam penelitian ini. yang melibatkan sampel 30 siswa dari kelas 8. Teknik random sampling digunakan untuk mendapatkan sampel ini. Dalam pengumpulan data tersebut, tes mem-baca merupakan instrumen penelitian yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan penelitian. Data tersebut kemudian dianalisis menggunakan format SPSS. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa pemahaman membaca siswa meningkat ketika mereka menggunakan komik digital melalui Strategi PQRST terlihat dari hasil belajar siswa. Strategi ini membuat siswa memahami awal bacaan, menanyakan yang belum dipahami, lau membaca bacaan, menyimpulkan dan dites kemam-puan pemahaman bacaannya. Langkah dalam strategi ini membuat siswa lebih mudah memahami bacaan karena diiringi dengan kegiatan yang bertahap yang melatih kemampuan metakognitifnya. Temuan lainnya ada-lah menggunakan komik digital melalui strategi ini menawarkan pen-galaman baru bagi siswa, mudah diakses, tampilan menarik, dan kalimat cerita yang mudah dipahami. Peneliti juga menemukan bahwa siswa kelas delapan di UPTD SMPN 18 Barru sangat antusias dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman.
