The Use of Artificial Intelligence Methods to Assess the Effectiveness of Lean Maintenance Concept Implementation in Manufacturing Enterprises

Abstract: The increase in the performance and effectiveness of maintenance processes is a continuous aim of production enterprises. The elimination of unexpected failures, which generate excessive costs and production losses, is emphasized. The elements that influence the efficiency of maintenance are not only the choice of an appropriate conservation strategy but also the use of appropriate methods and tools to support the decision-making process in this area. The research problem, which was considered in the paper, is… Show more

“…Hsu and Wang [67] used a decision tree to classify size patterns of the human body for clothing and calculated the amount of fabric needed for garment patterns based on a database of measured data. Applying decision trees, Antosz et al [68] improved the maintenance approach of manufacturing companies. Yan and Lee [69] used logistic regression for the real-time monitoring of the health status of industrial components.…”

“…Much like Lean Management concepts have helped manufacturing, AI offers to become the next developmental process in efficiency improvement. Already, 92% of top manufacturing managers think that 'Smart Factory' modern technologies like artificial Intelligence would help them improve efficiency and encourage their employees to work intelligently (Antosz et al 2020 ). These smart technologies in smart Factories leads to become a crucial part in various smart city plans like developing smart Industries, smart drainage systems, smart traffic control systems etc.…”
