Background: At this stage, Chinese research on physical activity literacy is still in its infancy, and the domestic primary school students' physical activity literacy assessment questionnaire is also in a state of development. In this study, a set of questionnaire scales for measuring the physical activity literacy of primary school students was compiled according to the characteristics of primary school students in different school stages, and the population measurement was carried out by using this scale, and then the accuracy of the scale and the fit according to the Rasch model were judged. Methods: We compiled a set of scales for measuring the physical activity literacy of primary school students, and directly distributed the questionnaires to primary school students in four regions of Hebei Province, Sichuan Province, Shenzhen City and Qinghai Province for actual measurement. We also used Rasch analysis to study the single-dimensionality, reliability, resolution and fitting degree of the questionnaire to judge the accuracy of the scale, aiming to provide a strong reference for the subsequent revision and wide application of the questionnaire. Results: The item reliability coefficient of all questionnaires was 1, and the item separation degree was 16.08, 16.71 and 18.18, respectively, all of which were greater than 3, indicating that the internal consistency of the questionnaire was better and the students with different ability levels could be better distinguished. The one-dimensional hypothesis of the three questionnaires holds. The project-person figure shows that the difficulty of the questionnaire items can be well matched with the subject's ability level. The average values of Infit MNSQ and Outfit MNSQ in the questionnaire were between 0.5-1.5, and the overall fit was good, and the data were in good agreement with the ideal model. In the fitting statistics of a single entry, it was found that the three grade levels generally showed poor fitting on the questions of whether they should continue to exercise after injury, whether it was appropriate to be sedentary and inactive, whether weather with severe air pollution was suitable for outdoor sports, and motivation for sports tests and motivation to like challenges. In subsequent modifications, we will delete and improve these questions or modify the statements of these questions to appropriately increase the difficulty of the questions. Conclusion: The one-dimensional test passed, reliable and internally consistent of the questionnaire was high, the difficulty of the item and the matching degree of population ability were high, and the questionnaire fit the model well. The questionnaire as a whole can form a questionnaire on sports health literacy of primary school students with good reliability and validity.

BackgroundEvidence‐based practice (EBP) is a cornerstone for safe, high‐quality care. Implementation science recognizes that many factors influence the successful use of EBP, from attitudes and beliefs, self‐efficacy, and knowledge and skills to contextual factors related to unit and organizational culture. This integrative review aimed to identify valid and reliable instruments measuring critical EBP domains with nursing professionals.MethodsA systematic search of the literature was conducted. CINAHL, PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and Joanna Briggs were searched to identify original research publications testing the reliability and validity of EBP nursing instruments.ResultsOf 347 records, 48 studies representing 50 instruments were identified as having undergone psychometric testing, thus meeting the inclusion criteria. Most instruments were validated in English‐speaking countries. Content validity, construct validity, and internal consistency standards were met for 70%, 62%, and 94% of instruments, respectively. Limited testing was found for other types of validity, test–retest reliability, acceptability, feasibility, or responsivity and sensitivity, thus representing gaps in psychometric validation. Less than 20% of instruments have been translated to other languages limiting their use to advance EBP worldwide.Linking Evidence to ActionEighty‐two percent of instruments met minimal psychometric standards and are sound for education, practice, and research. Expanding psychometric testing and utilizing validated EBP instruments will further the EBP movement to improve global population health.

BackgroundPerceptions of the nursing profession influence career choices in nursing. An unrealistic perception might lead students to drop out of nursing education programmes. Objective measurement of the nursing applicants' perceptions at the student selection stage could enhance their career choices in nursing.AimTo develop and psychometrically evaluate the Perception of Nursing Profession Instrument (PNPI).DesignMixed method design.MethodTwo versions of the PNPI were developed during the years 2016–2022. The first version was based on documents describing the nursing profession and the second version was based on an integrative literature review, a focus groups study and a document analysis of descriptions of the nursing profession. The meta‐ethnographic approach was used to synthesize the results and form a theoretical framework for developing the PNPI (60 items). Item content validity was evaluated by an expert panel of nurses (n = 7). The psychometric properties of the instrument were analysed using the item response theory approach.ResultsThe development process resulted in the 40‐item PNPI with the following subscales: the content of nursing work, the career in nursing, the nature of nursing work and the characteristics of a nurse. The psychometric analysis revealed unidimensionality and goodness of fit to the partial credit model; however, the item difficulty was not well matched with the participants' abilities.ConclusionThe PNPI is a novel instrument for objectively measuring perceptions of the nursing profession. For further development, item difficulty must be enhanced to improve the measurement accuracy of the nursing applicants' perceptions of the nursing profession.ImpactPerceptions of the nursing profession influence career choices, but there is a lack of objective assessment instruments that can be used in nursing student selection setting to measure the perception. The results of this study offer an instrument to measure perception, while also suggesting ideas for further development.
