“…For K-shell ionization of an atom, the direct ionization (DI) of a target electron to the continuum has been shown to be a principal mode of interaction for th«egion Z, «Z2 and vi &&v2K (Ref' [15]), where Zi and Z~r efer to the incident and target atomic numbers, and u, and u2z refer to the incident-ion and target E-shell electron velocities, respectively. The DI process has been described in the first-order Born approach by the plane-wave Born approximation [15] [20].
