“…In the study of Hayden et al 5 on gastric ulcer disease in infants, the presence of gastric wall thickening in the range of 4 to 7.5 mm at the antropyloric region along with presence of deformity and spasm was considered diagnostic of gastric ulcer disease, despite the fact that no ulcer crater was identified. However, in another study 10 conducted on one child, US detected multiple large antral ulcers associated with a wall thickness of 14 mm at the site of ulcerations. US was also useful in the follow-up of healing in this case.…”

Since treating a boy whose acute multiple gastric ulcers were diagnosed by US, 1 we have been using US to examine patients complaining of abdominal pain. This is a report of interesting US findings of patients with benign gastric ulcers and the application of US to the assessment of this disease.…”
