The tRNA‐associated dysregulation in immune responses and immune diseases

Abstract: Transfer RNA (tRNA), often considered as a housekeeping molecule, mainly participates in protein translation by transporting amino acids to the ribosome. Nevertheless, accumulating evidence has shown that tRNAs are closely related to various physiological and pathological processes. The proper functioning of the immune system is the key to human health. The aim of this review is to investigate the relationships between tRNAs and the immune system. We detail the biogenesis and structure of tRNAs and summarize t… Show more

“…Along the same lines, we hypothesize that this gene could be an additional candidate for trypanosomiasis resistance that was not highlighted in any of the previous studies. The two additional nearby genes TRNT1 and IL5RA also seem to be involved in immunological processes [ 65 67 ] which could be also relevant for the trypanosomiasis resistance in cattle.…”

“…Normally, tRNAs are considered to be housekeeping molecules with no additional functions. However, more and more evidence shows that tRNAs are related to various physiological and pathological processes ( Lord et al, 2017 ; Liu et al, 2020 ; Zhu et al, 2020 ; Meng et al, 2021 ). As mentioned above, tRNA-associated metabolism plays a vital role in the development of lung cancer ( Table 1 ).…”
