The Treatment of Hexavalent Chromium in Waste Liquid From Fugen Decommissioning

Abstract: Authors have developed the new treatment technique for hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) in the liquid waste. Cr6+ can be reduced to trivalent chromium (Cr3+) by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) under acidic condition with small amount of secondary waste. In 2010, this technique was applied to the cooling water for iron-water shield surrounding the core region in Fugen Nuclear Power Station of Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA).
