Abstract:Authors have developed the new treatment technique for hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) in the liquid waste. Cr6+ can be reduced to trivalent chromium (Cr3+) by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) under acidic condition with small amount of secondary waste. In 2010, this technique was applied to the cooling water for iron-water shield surrounding the core region in Fugen Nuclear Power Station of Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). The concentration of Cr6+ and total chromium (Cr) were reduced to less than 0.5ppm and 2.0ppm in l… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
