The time-resolved and extreme conditions XAS (TEXAS) facility at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility: the general-purpose EXAFS bending-magnet beamline BM23

Abstract: BM23 is the general-purpose EXAFS bending-magnet beamline at the ESRF, replacing the former BM29 beamline in the framework of the ESRF upgrade. Its mission is to serve the whole XAS user community by providing access to a basic service in addition to the many specialized instruments available at the ESRF. BM23 offers high signal-to-noise ratio EXAFS in a large energy range (5-75 keV), continuous energy scanning for quick-EXAFS on the second timescale and a micro-XAS station delivering a spot size of 4 mm  4 m… Show more

“…Approximately 10 mg of sample was ground with approximately 90 mg of fumed silica and made into a pellet and the XAS data were measured in step scans in an E ‐range of 5623.0 to 6154.0 eV. Ex‐situ XAS data at the Ce K‐edge (40 443 eV) was obtained at room temperature at beamline BM23, at the ESRF. The beamline uses a Si(311) double crystal monochromator and all the data were collected in transmission mode using ionisation chambers.…”

“…Operando XAFS experiments at Pt and Ce L 3 ‐edges (11564 and 5723 eV) were carried out at BM23 beam line of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, Grenoble, France) . The spectra were recorded in fluorescence mode by a Vortex® Silicon Drift X‐ray detector.…”

“…Operando XAFS experiments at Pt and Ce L 3 -edges (11564 and 5723 eV) were carried out at BM23 beam line of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, Grenoble, France). [34] The spectra were recorded in fluorescence mode by a Vortex® Silicon Drift X-ray detector. The weighted amount of the sample (15 mg) was loaded inside a 1.5 mm quartz glass capillary (0.02 mm wall thickness) and fixed with quartz wool from both sides.…”
