The thermal decomposition of 2,2′‐azobis‐(2‐methyl‐5‐hydroxy‐valeronitril) and its phenyl isocyanate derivative

Abstract: The thermal decomposition kinetics of 2,2'-azo-bis-(2-methyl-5-hydroxy-valeronitrile) was studied in isobutyl methyl ketone, 1Q-dioxane and cyclohexanone at 61,71, and 81 "C by applying ultraviolet absorption technique. The thermal decomposition of the phenyl isocyanate capped product of this azo-compound was also studied in isobutyl methyl ketone at the same three temperatures.
