Abstract:Chagas disease (CD), caused by Trypanosoma cruzi, is a neglected tropical disease prevalent in Latin America. The treatment of infected patients is aimed at eliminating the parasite, reducing the risk of cardiomyopathy, and interrupting the disease transmission cycle.
