The Thelephoraceae of North America. VI. Hypochnus

Abstract: Fructifications resupinate, effused, dry, coriaceous, feltlike or hypocbnoid, usually composed of loosely interwoven hypliae wliicli bear basidia sometimes in scattered clusters but more usually in a compact Lymenium; h: menium even or papillose; basidia simple, bearing two or more rough-walled to echinulate, distinctly colored in most pale-colored in a few, and hyaline in one or possih species.
