“…В 1913 роцi Jackson модифiкував iнструменти i методи Kirstein. Його ларингоскоп використовувався для iнтубацiї трахеї пiд контролем зору, з послiдую-чим iнтратрахеальним вдуванням повiтряно-ефiрної сумiшi, таким чином, Jackson фактично був першим, хто описав iнтубацiю трахеї пiд прямою ларингоскопiєю [31]. Henry Harrington Janeway в Нью-Йорку 1913 року розробив ларингоскоп з живленням вiд батареї виключно для iнтубацiї трахеї [32].…”

“…1 Otolaryngology has been a major participant in the shift to day surgery, as many common otolaryngology procedures are amenable to this pathway. 2 Rigid microlaryngobronchoscopy (MLB) is considered the 'gold standard' of upper-airway evaluation in children. 3 It is a standard assessment tool in specialist paediatric centres enabling diagnosis, monitoring or intervention of airway pathology.…”

“…Initially, it was Chevalier Jackson who described a range of manoeuvres to achieve optimal views for direct laryngoscopy in 1913. He proposed the use of a neutral position (where the head is rested on a pillow) for a diagnostic examination of the larynx, however, suggested that ‘for insertion of an insufflation tube, bronchoscope, or other instrument, it is absolutely necessary…to have the head in full extension’. The latter was achieved by Jackson's assistant, Boyce, by supporting the patient's head and neck in an elevated position off the end of the table; this has since been coined the ‘Boyce‐Jackson’ position.…”

“…In the oder hand it puts the patient prone to aspirate blood or mucous secretion to the lungs. It was in that year that Chevalier Jackson related the high success rate of protection of the airway with the tracheal intubation technique [1].…”
