To obtain a more reliable scaling of the sideways force, in 2018, the ITPA Topical Group on MHD, Disruptions & Control launched a new joint experiment MDC-25 on asymmetric forces that includes tokamaks with simpler vessels and/or vessel supports: COM-PASS [8,34], TCV [35], AUG [23], DIII-D [36] and JT-60SA [37].
