The synthesis of a DHAD/ZnAlTi-LDH composite with advanced UV blocking and antibacterial activity for skin protection

Abstract: A dual-functional photocatalytic antibacterial and UV resistant nanocomposite was fabricated by loading DHAD onto ZnAlTi-LDH nanosheets, and possessed excellent UV blocking, antibacterial and wound healing performance.

“…Based on these results, the synergistic mechanism of photo-inactivation using CuO x -loaded Mo-BiVO 4 photocatalysts is schematically shown in Figure B. The main disinfection mechanism of the photocatalytic materials was the production of ROS . Photocatalytic inactivation might have occurred due to oxidative attack on harmful bacteria by · O 2 – radicals as a minor active species.…”

“…The main disinfection mechanism of the photocatalytic materials was the production of ROS. 39 Photocatalytic inactivation might have occurred due to oxidative attack on harmful bacteria by • O 2 − radicals as a minor active species. In summary, CuO x (2 wt %)/Mo-BiVO 4 photocatalysts effectively accelerated the separation of photogenerated charges and reduced recombination during photocatalysis, which enabled efficient photocatalytic inactivation activity.…”

“…In continuation of our interest in developing natural product-based bioactive compounds ( Lin et al, 2017 ; Wang X. et al, 2018 ; Lin et al, 2018 ; Kang et al, 2019 ; Liu et al, 2020 ; Zhu et al, 2020 ; Chen et al, 2021 ; He et al, 2021 ), a series of novel nopol derivatives containing 1,2,4-triazole and thioether moieties were designed and synthesized by the strategy of molecular docking-based virtual screening based on the crystal structure of cytochrome bc 1 complex. In addition, a three-dimensional structure-activity quantitative relationship (3D-QSAR) model was established by the comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) method.…”

“…Our group constructed a multifunctional antibacterial composite (DHAD/ZnAlTi-LDH) by loading dehydroabietic acid derivative (DHAD) onto ZnAlTi-LDH nanosheets. 422 The prepared DHAD/ZnAlTi-LDH showed outstanding ROS production ability, and both S. aureus and E. coli were killed under visible light irradiation with antibacterial rate of 94% and 91%, respectively. Cheng et al incorporated p -hydroxybenzoic acid (PHBA) into ZnAl-LDHs to inhibit the growth of S. aureus and Candida albicans .…”
