The Susceptible-Infectious Model of Disease Expansion Analyzed Under the Scope of Connectivity and Neighbor Rules

Abstract: This paper presents a model to approach the dynamics of infectious diseases expansion. Our model aims to establish a link between traditional simulation of the Susceptible-Infectious (SI) model of disease expansion based on ordinary differential equations (ODE), and a very simple approach based on both connectivity between people and elementary binary rules that define the result of these contacts. The SI deterministic compartmental model has been analysed and successfully modelled by our method, in the case of… Show more

“…The white cells are susceptible. This discrete grid model has been deeply analyzed and compared with the continuous models solved by ordinary differential equations (ODE), with the intention of finding the homologous parameters between both approaches [9][10][11][12][13][14][15]. Three parameters are crucial for the characterization of our proposal: neighborhoods, delays and update rules.…”

“…As mentioned in Section 2, generic epidemic models are very useful to deal with the dynamics of malware propagation [27][28][29]. In this section we present the SEIRS epidemic model to analyse the propagation behaviour of the malware in mobile computing devices.…”
