The surface properties of aluminated meso–macroporous silica and its catalytic performance as hydrodesulfurization catalyst support

Abstract: Aluminated mesoporous silica was prepared by multiple post-grafting of alumina onto uniform mesoporous SiO 2 , which was assembled from monodisperse SiO 2 microspheres. Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalyst was prepared by loading Ni and Mo active components onto the aluminated uniform mesoporous SiO 2 , and its HDS catalytic performance was evaluated using hydrodesulfurization of dibenzothiophene as the probe reaction at 300°C and 6.0 MPa in a tubular reactor. The samples were characterized by N 2 physisorption… Show more

“…Additionally, the XRD peaks of MCM-41 were at 2θ = 2.3, 3.9, and 4.6°. , It can be seen that there was a relatively weak diffraction peak at 2.3°, which can be attributed to the high dispersion of MCM-41 in γ-Al 2 O 3. However, in the small-angle range of 0.6–5 o , there was no obvious characteristic peaks of MCM-41 for the AM-10 catalyst, which can be explained that the loading of Co and Mo caused the loss of the long-range ordering …”

“…With the increasing recognition of environmental protection, many countries and regions have adopted more stringent regulations for the sulfur content level of commercial gasoline, which brings a severe challenge for the modern refining industry to manufacture clean gasoline. FCC gasoline is one of the main components in the gasoline pool and contributes to approximately 90% sulfur of commercial gasoline. , Hence, the reduction of the sulfur content in FCC gasoline is of great significance to produce clean gasoline. Currently, hydrodesulfurization (HDS) has still been widely regarded as an effective process to remove sulfur compounds from FCC gasoline in refineries.…”
