Web services describe a standardized way of integrating Web-based applications over an Internet protocol backbone. Mobile devices are getting more pervasive and it is becoming increasingly necessary to integrate web services into applications that run on these devices. We introduce a novel approach for dynamically invoking web service methods from mobile devices with minimal user intervention that only involves entering a search phrase and values for the method parameters. The architecture overcomes technical challenges that involve consuming discovered services dynamically by introducing a man-in-the middle (MIM) server that provides a web service whose responsibility is to discover needed services and build the client-side proxies at runtime. The architecture moves to the MIM server energy-consuming tasks. Such tasks involve communication with servers over the Internet, XML-parsing of files, and on-the-fly compilation of source code. The MIM Server programmed with the intelligence to identify a set of services whose collective functionality can serve the user's request. We perform extensive evaluations of the system performance to measure scalability as it relates to the capacity of the MIM server in handling mobile client requests, and device battery power savings resulting from delegating the service discovery tasks to the server.

Ambient Networks will enable mobile terminals to communicate in an environments populated by several networks, devices, services and artefacts in a transparent way to the final user. In these scenarios, one way of implementing services uses web service architecture. So it is important to study how these mobile devices will integrate efficiently to access web services. Because of the reduced capabilities of the mobile devices, their access to web services is not easy and might have some performance costs related to show data speeds and processing both HTTP commands and XML. Moreover, sOlne mobile devices could not support web service access and if supported it lacks of web service search engine. In order to allow mobile devices to access web services efficiently, giving a solution to the previous problems, we propose a new architecture based on a peer-to-peer with distributed hash tables network, as a gateway between the mobile device and web service. This architecture is a base software simulator for an Anlbient Network environnlent developed in our research group. Nodes of the peer-topeer network publish services, allow finding them easily and acting as a gateway to the mobile devices for accessing web services more efficiently.

Abstract:As educational institutions and their departments rapidly increase, a communication between their end-users becomes more and more difficult in traditional online management systems (OMS). However, the end-users, i.e., employees, teaching staff, and students are associated to different sub-domains and using different sub-systems that are executed on different platforms following different administrative policies. Because of their intercommunication is not automated integrated, consequently, the overall efficiency of the system is degraded and the communication time is increased. Therefore, a technique for better interoperability and automated integration of departments is an urgent needed. Many of existing systems does not have a set of connections yet, such as the system of the University of Sindh (UoS). In this paper, we propose a system for the UoS, named integration of inter-connectivity of information system (i3) based on service oriented architecture (SOA) with web services. The system i3 monitors and exchanges the student's information in support of verification along heterogeneous and decentralized nature. Moreover, the proposed system provides capability of interoperability between their sub-systems that are deployed in different departments of UoS and using different programming languages and database management systems (DBMS).
