Abstract:The review by Zytowski (1966) concerning the use of the experimental analog as a vehicle for the study of counseling outcomes is inaccurate on one point of major significance. Zytowski comments that "no study undertook to demonstrate the effects of experimental therapy in the change of opinions, attitudes or values, except for one ... To the extent that these outcomes are desirable goals of therapy, such studies of their susceptibility to change would be valuable therapy analogs" (p. 239).
