One of the most significant development trends in the last 10 years is the increased use of the Internet as a medium for conducting business activities and new opportunities for transaction due to its potential benefits to businesses, especially to small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), such as cost reduction, streamlining of business processes, enhancing a firm's market reach, improved operational efficiencies, access to new customers, supplier contacts and trading partners, creation of new ways of selling existing products and greater competitive advantage (Beatty, Shim, & Jones, 2001;Chau, 2003;Daniel, Hoxmeier, White, & Smart, 2004;Lai, 2007;Riemenschneider, Harrison, & Mykytyn, 2003;Standing, Standing, & Love, 2010).…”

“…The most recent articles in this category are from 2007. They discuss how information technology facilitates the e-commerce supply chain and logistics from different points of view: the application of RFID with multi-agent inventory management systems, finding opportunities for efficiency improvement (Garcia et al, 2007), the strategic changes involved in adopting internetbased, inter-organizational systems (IIOS) for an LSP (Lai, 2007), an agent-based approach for online order tracking (Trappey et al, 2004), case studies on IT applications for logistics (Rae-Smith & Ellinger, 2002;Farhoomand et al, 2003) and the benefits of information technology in supply chain management in different industries (Auramo et al, 2005).…”
