We agree with Dahlerup (2006) that the workplace perspective has much to offer if we wish to broaden the research agenda and include informal as well as formal aspects of the work environment in research concerning gender and legislative bodies. Adopting a workplace perspective is necessary not only for gaining an understanding of gendered conditions in politics, but also for seeing more clearly how policy outcomes become gendered.…”
